Why Sarah created Bendy Bodies yoga!

I created Bendy Bodies Yoga to allow children the opportunity to be able to explore their own bodies through movement, relaxation and breathing techniques. Throughout the classes children learn the value of encouraging, praising and respecting each other, which help them create a loving non competitive, and most of all fun environment with a space for them just to be and feel themselves.
Children eventually understand that yoga is not about how it looks buts it about how it feels for them. Through this way of teaching I can see the confidence and spiritual side shine through each child, in only a few weeks, it is so wonderful to see and to be able to share the benefits of yoga, with children, their teachers and parents.

Practicing Yoga at an early age encourages self-esteem and body awareness; it physically enhances flexibility, strength and co-ordination, whilst improving concentration, sense of calmness, relaxation and inner strength.

I feel that yoga is beneficial for every child, I have experience of working with Autistic children, and children with ADHD and Asperger’s, children with low confidence and also lots of confidence, but great improvement has been seen throughout all.
Yoga is also particularly helpful in supporting children throughout emotionally and mental stressful periods, such as SAT exams and family break ups.
Yoga also helps children’s social skills and developmental growth so they will be better at sports and they will be more comfortable in their body as the go through the inevitable awkwardness that comes with growing from child to teenager to adult.

But most of all the reason why I want to introduce children to yoga is because children love it! It just brings them pure positive fun!
